Visitation of senior representatives of Food & Environment Hygiene Department (FEHD): Ms. Ho Yuen-man, Assistant Director (Grade Management & Development) and Mr. Leung Fo-man, Superintendent (Cemeteries and Crematoria) Mr. Wilson Tong, Founder of Pelican and Partners Ltd, had an open and deep conservation with FEHD regarding international cremation, green funeral, garden and sea scattering, and other memorial solutions.
All guests agree that green funeral will be the trend of future and the deathcare industry stakeholders may consider solutions with dignity and high technology.
According to FEHD statistics, there was only 6.4% of deceases’ families chose green burial (garden and sea scattering) in 2012, but the percentage has been risen to 10.5% and 15.7% in 2016 and 2021 (until August 2021).
